Aquarius Bulk Carrier Shipping has begun a fleet-wide upgrade of its digital systems as it turns to Navarino for stronger connectivity, unified IT management and strengthened cyber security. The Athens based company says the move is part of its wider push to support crew welfare and improve operational reliability.

Windward has introduced a new system that brings together satellite imagery, radio frequency data and behavioural analytics in a single operational picture. The company says the technology is designed to help governments and commercial operators respond faster to security risks across global trade.

Where operational excellence meets net zero ambition

The Baltic Exchange has introduced a new calculator that standardises how freight earnings are assessed across bulk, tanker and gas markets. The organisation says the tool will help market participants navigate growing regulatory pressures while bringing clarity to emissions related costs.

Steerprop has secured a major contract to supply its most powerful ducted propulsion units to date for Jan De Nul’s new rock installation vessel. The project reflects rising demand for high efficiency systems that can support offshore energy work while improving operational control.

Digitalisation and electrification produce extraordinary results for Norwegian offshore operators. Digitalisation, advancing hand-in-hand with the electrification of ships, is bringing remarkable efficiency gains in the workboat segment, one of the most formidable sectors in which to attempt to lower costs. For Olympic Subsea, the results speak for themselves: generations of its offshore vessels have reduced fuel consumption by 83%, from 18 tonnes burned per operating day to just three tonnes, according to CEO Stig Remøy.
